  • Mini vacuum cleaner (800w motor)
  • Personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Safe cloths
  • Screenclene
  • Spray duster
  • Waste bag

Method statement:

  • Client must ensure all machines are switched off and unplugged.
  • Anti-glare mesh must be removed before cleaning the screen (if applicable).
  • Using the mini-vac or spray duster, carefully remove debris from the keyboard.
  • With the safe cloth and foamclene, apply and clean the vdu surround, working from the back to the front and sides until all areas are clean.
  • Speakers and disc drive unit are cleaned with the same solution, foamclene and safe cloth, ensuring all areas are clean.
  • Screen is cleaned with screenclene solution – solution is sprayed into a safe cloth and then carefully cleaned starting with edges first and then horizontally in overlapping strokes.
  • Any exposed leads are wiped.
  • Mouse is cleaned with foamclene and safe cloth.
